"We hire more UA engineers than any other university in the nation."

Engineering Facts
Alaska faces a shortage of qualified engineers. Employers prefer to hire UA graduates, as they are more likely to remain in Alaska.
The UAA and UAF Engineering programs are complementary and collaborative. Unfortunately, both facilities and labs at both campuses are cramped and out-of-date.
The University of Alaska has a track record for supplying high quality engineering graduates to Alaska oil and gas, mining, and other industries. The challenge is to sustain and expand this capability for local education and local hire.
