Alaska Needs Engineers
Alaska faces a shortage of qualified engineers. The challenge is to sustain and expand the capabilities for local education and local hire in this area of expertise.
The Alaska Department of Labor's projections through 2018 indicate an average of 50 new engineering jobs will be available each year, plus another 70 openings from annual turnover and retirement.
